Roma PowerGrades for Davinci Resolve
The ROMA PowerGrade is a simple node structure for DaVinci Resolve that provides a solid starting point for creating cinematic-looking color grades for your footage.
Inside the package, you’ll find PowerGrades for Sony S-Log3, Apple Log, Rec. 709, and ZV-E10 (S-Log2/ITU709 Matrix) color spaces. The node structure is the same for all PowerGrades; the only difference is the IDT (Input Device Transform) node for each color space.
Also, each color space includes two versions: one with FLC (Film Look Creator) and one with the Dehancer film emulation plug-in. If you own the Dehancer film emulation plug-in, I recommend using the Dehancer PowerGrade version; otherwise, use the Film Look Creator version.
Compatibility:
- S-Log3: Use with any Sony camera that supports S-Log3
- Apple Log: Use with iPhone 15/16 Pro/Pro Max Apple Log footage
- REC709: Use with normal picture profiles, such as DJI D-LOG M, GoPro FLAT or any Standard color profile
- ZV-E10: Use with my custom Sony ZV-E10 S-Log2/ITU709 Matrix settings
How to import the PowerGrades:
- Download and unzip the ZIP file.
- Open a random DaVinci Resolve project.
- Go to the Color Page.
- Open the Gallery viewer.
- Right-click on the left box and select “Add New PowerGrade Album.”
- Rename the PowerGrade Album to whatever you like.
- Right-click on the right box where it says “No stills created.”
- Select “Import” and import the PowerGrade you want from the unzipped folder you created in step 1.
Important notes:
- The color space and gamma on the ODT node are set to Rec.709 and Rec.709-A. This works great if you’re editing on a MacBook display like myself. However, If you’re using a Windows laptop or an external monitor, I recommend switching the output gamma to Gamma 2.4 to get the most accurate colors when exporting your video.
